Practical guidance · examples to adapt · not legal or financial advice
1. Describe the paid purchase
State the eligible item, visit or spend and any supported minimum. Per-dollar points use eligible paid spend before tax and tips and whole-point rounding. Scans and signup do not earn.
2. Name the reward and cost
For stamps, state the target and benefit. For points, list each noncash reward and positive integer cost. Explain that points cannot be purchased, transferred or cashed out and do not expire.
3. Make location scope visible
List participating locations. Summit supports shared or location-only loyalty within one business. Do not imply a customer can pool balances with another merchant.
4. Explain fulfillment and changes
Staff confirms redemption and applies the benefit in your register. Earned terms and locations are snapshotted; material prospective changes should not silently rewrite existing rewards. Supported stamp reward expiry is different from nonexpiring points.
5. Plan for pauses and closure
Set contact and closure terms you can honor. Review outstanding rewards before closing; no automatic transfer, expiry or deletion is promised. Trial expiry pauses new earning/enrollment/publishing while keeping valid fulfillment available. Applicable law still matters.
